Professional Project Management is at the core of everything we do. As a company and management team, we have managed and successfully delivered projects in challenging and harsh environments. We have managed and delivered projects in challenging environments in various countries across Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

Key to our success is efficient planning, clear communication and focus on Health, Safety and Environmental awareness.

Our project management teams use secure cloud-based project planning and management tools to schedule and manage tasks through the entire lifecycle of the project, from initial planning to the final completion and client acceptance.
As much of a cliché as it may sound, effective and clear communication is one of the most important aspects of a project to ensure success and client satisfaction. Our project team make use of modern communication tools to stay in constant contact with office-based support teams and site operations to ensure quick decisions can be made and any unnecessary delays can be avoided, and issues flagged and addressed as a priority.

As a Professional Project Management organistation, we strive to create and maintain a safe and healthy environment for our staff both on site and in the office. We therefore adhere to UK and international Health and Safety Standards on our sites and ensure all staff, sub-contractors, visitors and other stakeholders entering our sites are properly inducted and briefed on the site conditions and activities to be aware before entering the site. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is issued and used. Since the global awareness of COVID-19, we have supplemented our normal HSE requirements to include “COVID Safe” awareness briefings on the risks, prevention and treatment. We also have sanitation stations set up on site where appropriate and practise social distancing to ensure all persons on site  are acting responsibly to ensure that we are doing our part.

We believe that as inhabitants of this planet, we have a responsibility to treat it with respect and implement project practices that encourage sustainability and recycling so that we can reduce pollution and environmental impact.

Project Management Approach

Establish Project Requirements

We work with our clients to understand and determine the project objective and detailed requirements and where possible carry out a site survey to establish mutually understood specifications. This allows us to draft a costed proposal for the job.

Define Project Scope and Responsibilities

Once the client has agreed the Project Requirements, we define the detailed project scope of works and a responsibility matrix to ensure that all stakeholders involved understand their respective  responsibilities for the project.

Planning and Scheduling
  • Based on the agreed project scope and responsibilities, we prepare a Project Plan providing a programme of works and tasks indicating task durations and timelines, while noting key deliverables and hold points such as client, government or engineer inspections.
  • The project planning phase also includes the documentation of how the key tasks will be performed and managed as detailed in our method statements and risk assessments (RAMS) for each phase, including how these will be monitored and measured and the indicators which defines which items are completed
Pre-Construction
Our Pre-Construction Phase is a part of the project planning process that is often overlooked but critical to success.
  • Selection and ordering of required products and equipment from suppliers that meet the client specifications to ensure that the final product meets the required standards.
  • Client, architect or engineer approvals are obtained
  • Government, city or community licences and permits that may be required
  • Health and safety and Construction Design & Management (CDM) arrangements
  • Designs, plans and specifications are distributed to the project team
  • Kick off meetings held with client and project management teams
Construction
Implementation of the designed and approved project elements are completed by the installation team. All project activities are carried out in strict compliance to Health and Safety guidelines and regulations, Project Schedule, Continuous Quality Management to meet the required standards and specifications.
Completion, Testing and Commissioning

Throughout the project lifecycle, our project management team regularly inspect work in progress and completed and compile a snag-list in order to achieve practical completion in accordance with the programme and budget, with no unnecessary delays to the closure of the project.  All system and equipment is commissioned and tested in accordance with the manufacturer recommendations and signed off by the appropriate specialist. or engineer. Upon final completion, we conduct a joint inspection between the client representative and our Project Manager while ensuring that all snags are rectified and signed off by the Project Manager and the Client. Our Project Administration team prepared and hands over the full  set of test sheets O&M Manuals to maintain the installations, As-built drawings and certificates as required by the project deliverables and forms part of the hand over documentation pack.

Client Hand-Over and Acceptance
When the client is satisfied, they are presented with a Works Completion Certificate and the site is handed back to the client. Agreed warranties are put in place.
